Harold Sanderson

Harold Sanderson

Our Founder
Harold Sanderson was born in 1919 in Midway, Kentucky on his family’s farm where he grew up with 10 siblings. After serving in the Army Air Corps in World War II, Harold was transferred to Wright Patterson Air Force Base. After a brief career in the Air Force, he attended and graduated from the University of Dayton.

In 1957, Harold founded Sanderson Insurance Agency in Fairborn, Ohio. Harold truly treated his customers like family. We still remember the story he told of one of his customers having no one else to call, so they called him when they needed to be bonded out of jail for a traffic violation. Who else would you call about that, other than your insurance agent! He led the structure of our agency, which is to treat each other and our clients with respect and kindness the way we would treat our closest friend or relative.

Harold passed away in Oct of 2012. He was married to his wife Marian for 69 years and together they had 2 children, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
